Nov. 7, 2018 -- Wichita State University is continuing to expand its appeal outside of the Wichita area by now offering in-state tuition to students living in several additional metropolitan areas in the Midwest. Now even more students will have the opportunity to enroll in the high-quality academic programs at Wichita State for an affordable price.

Nov. 6, 2018 -- WSU student Tammy Dorsey created the Pedi-Cell, a diagnostic tool that can detect fetal acidosis.

Oct. 5, 2018 -- Retired Lt. Colonel Larry Burks is the new director of Military and Veteran Services at Wichita State University.

Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Oct. 1, 2018 -- As reported by the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR), KBOR's defined full time equivalent (FTE) for WSU is 11,285, an increase of 1.6 percent over last fall's 11,109. For KBOR reporting purposes, full time is considered to be 15 hours for undergraduates and 12 hours for graduate students.

Sept. 26, 2018 - Dean Elledge, program director for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Wichita State, has won the Dentist of the Year award from the Wichita District Dental Society.

Sept. 12, 2018 - The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Wichita State hosted the first Summer Literacy Camp for children.

Aug. 16, 2018 -- WSU Old Town gets Wichita State and WSU Tech students and faculty together in labs, classrooms and break rooms to learn and take advantage of combined resources.

Aug. 2, 2018 -- Ideas turn into reality at GoCreate, Wichita State's makerspace, which in its first year already has helped 180 members bring their creativity to life.

Aug. 3, 2018 -- As GoCreate marks its second year, access to tools, technology and advice is critical to entrepreneurs and other creators.

June 29, 2018 -- A group of six Master of Innovation Design students at Wichita State University participated in and won a national innovation challenge issued by Johnson & Johnson Innovation Co.
